Abuse & Surviving It
What it looks like from the inside, why leaving is never as simple as people think, and what nobody tells you about the after.
You're probably not the only one thinking it
These subjects are heavy. I don't handle them like a textbook and I don't handle them carelessly either. Take your time in here, and leave whenever you need to.
Heads up before you read on: these pages talk openly about abuse, trafficking, trauma and loneliness. Nothing plays automatically, nothing is graphic for shock value, and you can step away at any point. Come back when you're ready — it'll still be here.
I'm not a therapist, a counselor, a doctor, a lawyer or a trafficking intervention specialist. I'm a woman who has lived through some things and who refuses to pretend these subjects don't exist. What I offer is conversation, awareness, encouragement and a person who will not flinch when you tell the truth.
I'm a friend with life experience, not a professional service. If you're in danger or in crisis, please reach out to people trained for it — and then come talk to me any time after.
